• What security measures do you have in place?

  The Sydney Morning Herald Money Transfer Service is powered by TorFX Pty Ltd. TorFX holds an Australian Financial Services License and is regulated in Australia by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC).

  
  TorFX operate segregated client bank accounts.

• How does the transfer process work?

  After you have opened your account your personal Account Manager will contact you to discuss the transfer.

  
  Once you have agreed on a transfer rate you will receive an order confirmation and be asked to supply details of the beneficiary. You then send your funds to our segregated client account and once cleared your foreign currency will immediately be sent to your beneficiary account.

• Is there a minimum or maximum size transfer?

  Transactions sizes can range from as little as $1K up to $10M+

• Can I send cash or pay a cheque?

  TorFX cannot accept cash or cheques due to legislative compliance requirements. Transactions must be between different currency bank accounts.

• Would this service be more cost effective than using my bank?

  Whilst using your Bank for foreign currency transfers might seem like the simplest option, using a specialist broker can make the process more streamlined and considerably more cost-effective.

• How long does the transfer take?

  In most cases your funds can be transferred and deposited in your beneficiary account within 24 hours of receipt. This can sometimes take a day or two longer depending on the currency required and the countries involved. Your Account Manager will be able to give you an estimate of time for the transfer.
